Este documento é um Atlas da distribuição da Pobreza que reúne um conjunto diversificado de mapas e informações sobre a pobreza em países e continentes.

Este material faz parte de um grande projeto “Global Poverty Mapping Project” (Projeto de Mapeamento Global Pobreza) que procura aumentar a compreensão atual da distribuição global da pobreza e identificar as condições geográficas e biofísicas do local onde os pobres vivem. Além disso, o projeto tem como objetivo auxiliar os formuladores de políticas, agências de desenvolvimento e os próprios indíviduos envolvidos na concepção de intervenções para reduzir a pobreza.
